Following a meeting last night meeting between the Racecourse and Kingsthorpe leagues, we can now announce that the merger was passed successfully.
From May this year the two leagues will combine, playing each team once both home and away. The new league is to be called the "Combination League".
Fixtures will be arranged soon, with games beginning from the first full week in May.
As a result of this merger, the Town League has been cancelled for this season to allow the development of this to be done smoothly. It is hoped that this will return in the future, in either the same or altered format.
The existing individual competitions that the Racecourse League held (singles, pairs, and triples) are to continue as before. However they will be opened up to members of the Kingsthorpe league. This will be by a random draw, with the first named players representing where the match will be played. Entry for this will remain at £1.00 per person, per competition. The prize will remain a monetary prize, with the amount to be decided by entries.
