Match Report: Triples - 8th May 2012

The Racecourse Bowls League finally managed to begin its season following a wash-out of games during the first week.

Tuesday the 8th May saw the begining of the triples competition.

Primrose Hill's first opponents of the season were 20th Century and this remained a tight game throughout for two of the triples, seeing the two teams share the spoils over them with a win of one shot for 20th from John Collins, Phil Ireson and Frank Jarrett at 13-12. While Primrose took the other with a 14-9 win from Bill Aldridge, Kevin Evans and David Evans. The third triple though was going to decide the game winner, and this went to Primrose trio George Wells, John Horrocks and Phil Aldridge and their conclusive 22-8 win.

Doddridge were playing Health in their first match and they were always the stronger team of the two. Their trio of Robert Briggs, Don Johnson and Keith Jones took an 18-5 win, while Philip Hutt, Ernie Bratt and Richard Pitts did likewise with their 15-9 win. Health took a single point thanks to guest James McGrath, Paul Hargreaves and Martyn Cox and a 14-11 win.

Law Security were unable to provide a team for their game against Amateurs, therefore having to concede the game.
